Week 30

Drawing of your baby in week 30

About the size ofa galia melon

Your baby is now 38 cm and 1300 grams.

Research has shown that your baby can not only hear, but can also recognise your voice or your partner’s. That means your baby can not only recognise things, but also learn and remember. The number of air sacs in the lungs is increasing, as is the surfactant in them. Surfactant is a greasy layer in the air sacs that makes sure the lungs unfold at birth. Your little one has less and less room in your belly and may already be lying neatly head down, but it may also still be in a breech position. Nothing to worry about: for another six weeks there is enough room to turn around in the womb. We will also check this with a scan.
