Being pregnant for longer than forty weeks usually means the baby is very comfortable in your belly. And if the placenta has worked well for forty-two weeks, the baby looks just like babies born on time. It just has no vernix left on its skin, and the hands and feet are probably a little dry. In the end the birth will be induced, unless of course there is something with the baby or a medical problem has been found in you. One consolation: you will forget all that waiting the moment you hold your baby in your arms!
